THE CRISIS OF RELIGIOUS FAITH AND RULING
POLITICS
A CRITIQUE OF THE MUSLIM ULAMA AND LEADERS'
CALL TO AHL AL-SUDAN (5)
AL-HARAKA AL-ISLAMIYA UNPRECEDENTED CRIMES:
THE CANCELLATION OF THE SUDANESE PEACE AGREEMENT 1988
The Haraka Islamiya Group came to cancel the Sudanese Peace Agreement
that was signed by Sudanese prominent figures, the Muslim well-reputed Za'im
Mohamed Osman Al-Mirghani and Dr. John Garang, a Sudanese intellectual of
Christian Faith, both of whom represent millions of Sudanese Muslims or Christians
as well Sudanese believers in African religions of whom many are members of
SPLM, the party that Dr. Garang leads.
The Peace Agreement was blessed by the Sudanese Armed Forces' Command led
by a distinguished Peace Leader, the late Commander-in-Chief General Fathi
Ahmed Ali. It was approved by the Government of Sudan led by Leader of the
large Muslim group of the Ansar and Umma Party, Sadiq Al-Mahdi, the former
elected Prime Minister of Sudan.
The Sudanese Peace Agreement was blessed by Ahl Al-Sudan via their trades
unions and professional associations and the legitimate pluralist democratically-elected
parliament, the Constituent Assembly of The Sudan, to whose membership za'im
Al-Haraka Al-Islamiya Group Dr. Hassan Turabi struggled hard to no
avail as he was popularly defeated for his shameless support of the non-pluralist
non-democratic non-peaceful regime of the deposed Dictator Ja'far Nimeiri
(1978-1985).
Fifty or so members of Al-Haraka Al-Islamiya Group joined the Constituent
Assembly only to plot against the democracy they had been enjoying, that forgave
their leadership's active involvement in the Nimeiri's dictatorial rule that
allowed them to exercise the full enjoyment of democratic rule but they only
joined it to evade the prosecution they deserved for all accusations against
them by honorable citizens, only to work hard to obstruct the implementation
of the nationally and internationally accepted Sudanese Peace Agreement 1989.
The 50 members or so only acted with hatred and prejudices to poison the
climates of peace and democracy, and finally destroyed Sudan's democracy by
the State Al-Haraka Al-Islamiya Group established and enforced with
iron, blood, and fire on the People of Sudan, the large Muslim and non-Muslim
population who never subscribed and never will subscribe to Al-Haraka Islamiya
Group, NIF political party, or the State of Bashir and Turabi that the
Call emphatically appealed it would come in good terms with its own warring
factions then come in terms with Ahl Al-Sudan.
The Haraka Islamiya State led by za'im Dr. Hassan Turabi and president
Omer Bashir and all their accomplices, military or civilian, in all positions
of the State as you were calling on them, O Muslim Ulama, Leaders, and Thinkers
who signed the Call, acted as the Killer of Sudanese, the War Criminal of
Sudan, the Greatest Corrupted Entity that ever ruled Sudan in the 20th century
and the opening decade of the 21st century.
On the 24th of April 1990 [the 29th of the Holy Month of Ramadan 1410H],
Hassan Turabi was the only politician who congratulated Bashir, the June military
coup leader, for the extra-judicial killing of 28 army officers and at least
200 army regular without trial by the Haraka Islamiya ruling Group.
Sudanese have every right by Islam, Christianity, and international human
rights covenants and agreements to investigate: why, by God, would any Muslim
group, such as the Muslim Brotherhood Haraka Islamiya Group, act so primitively
and ruthlessly to brutalize their good nature, noble origin, generous hospitality,
brave attitude, and progressive politics.
Sudanese have always suspected the real intentions of Muslim Brotherhood
movement in their country. For sure, Sudanese now hate, disrespect, never
trust, and have already condemned and denounced their savage rulers, the zalama,
HarakaIslamiya military or civilian leaders. Those supporting them
like signatories of the Call certainly should have given another deep and
careful thought to their whole relationship with the People of Sudan before
they signed their Call to urge Ahl Al-Sudan to forgive and tolerate
the Haraka criminals.
