THE CRISIS OF RELIGIOUS FAITH AND RULING POLITICS

A CRITIQUE OF THE INTERNATIONAL HARAKA ISLAMIYA
CALL TO AHL AL-SUDAN (3)

Before this writer handles the issues in question and others underlying the Call, a few observations are necessary:

ERADICATING SUDANESE WOMEN AND YOUTH

First: The signatories did not include a single Muslim woman. This point reflects a major discrepancy in thought and action between Sudanese progressive political mentality that emphasizes participation of women with men in public affairs and that of the non-Sudanese Muslim ulama, leaders, and thinkers who signed the Call to Ahl Al-Sudan.

The ulama showed hasty concerns about the state of affairs of the Sudanese Homeland, The Sudan, especially the "civil war, rule of coercion, and Fitna or tumult, discord, and oppression." The core political disarray of Sudan that came about with the Haraka Islamiya Group, nonetheless, pertains to the largest population of victims of war, persecution, and suppression. These are the Women of Sudan, our mothers, wives, sisters, and daughters whose human rights should have been recognized in the Call of Muslim ulama and leaders in the first place.

The position adopted by the Arab, African, Asian and other signatories of the Call made no mention or signature of a single woman. Contrary to this, the Sudanese women have been supported in consistent ways by Women of the World of whom many are non-Muslims as well as Muslims. These women all struggled for women's rights irrespective of any particular faith or political ideology, especially from the Sudanese sisterly African nations such as Egypt, Eritrea, South Africa, Nigeria, and many others.

The Women of the World with their organizations, those of Africa, USA, European States, and many other countries condemned in the strongest terms the atrocities of civil war in Sudan. The women condemned the ongoing random bombardment by Sudan Government of the civilian women, children, youth and elderly against all rules of Islam, International Humanitarian Law, and all Protocols of Geneva on the Protection of Civilians and Civil Establishments such as schools, residential areas, and hospitals.

The Haraka Islamiya established, completely controlled, and fully supported the State of the Sudan since June 30, 1989 to this day. The National Islamic Front (NIF) led by "za'im Al-Haraka Al-Islamiya, Dr. Hassan Turabi and president Omer Al-Bashir" was openly recognized by the signatories of the Call although it is a pariah regime. The Haraka regime of Sudan is a Criminal of War. Appropriate up-rooting measures, legal prosecution, and due replacement of the ailing rule must be achieved by a modern pluralist system of democratic rule. The Sudanese, Muslim or non-Muslim, are struggling for with all their might, will-power, wisdom and unwavering determination supported by all humans who value justice and peace and respect human dignity and public freedoms.

The Sudanese women's organizations including the 50 years old Sudanese Women's World Human Rights Prize Winner, the Sudanese Women's Union (SWU) is led by Ustaza Fatima Ahmed Ibrahim, a Sudanese prominent political and social leader. The Women's Union is supported by many other women leaders who have been peacefully struggling with word, rallies, complaints, memorandums, and every possible assembly at home and in Diaspora to stop the civil war. The union struggled to save the children. They pressed on the government and the opposition to make permanent and just peace between all Ahl Al-Sudan about whom the Muslim ulama and leaders expressed some concern in the Call. But the Haraka only paid full attention to the Haraka competing factions who are only striving t control the authority of the country they abused.

The Women and men of Sudan have equally struggled inside Khartoum and the other urban and rural centers of the country with their children. They made public demonstrations that rejected and condemned the slavery of Sudanese citizens in the war zones by the Haraka Islamiya Government and its Peoples' Defense Forces (PDF) as well as many other gross violations of the international agreements on children and women rights.

Appreciation is due the concerned parties that continued to perform the good job of liberating the citizens enslaved by troops of the Haraka Islamiya Group, government or PDF. These good people include many non-Muslim human rights and charity organizations that paid intensive humanitarian attention to this scourge that is shamelessly activated and abused by the Haraka's State and party. These humanitarian groups collaborate with many pious and philanthropist non-Haraka Islamiya Group Muslim men and women

The holy ethos and meaning of Islam guarantees full freedoms to all humanity for the wisdom of ta'aruf [knowing and cooperating with one another with their good sociable nature as servants of God] as in the glorious Qur'an. Indefiance of this holy order, the  Muslim Brotherhood's organizations, centers, institutes, and leagues did nothing to investigate, prohibit, or at
least condemn this shameless practice. They only belied the facts by making use of the well-paid public relations mercenaries who actively volunteered to defend their State and Party against accusations of involvement in the
slavery scourge.
