Tigani (cont.)
THE CRISIS OF RELIGIOUS FAITH AND RULING POLITICS

A CRITIQUE OF THE MUSLIM ULAMA AND LEADERS'
                                  CALL TO AHL AL-SUDAN (15)

The version of Shoura that the Muslim ulama, leaders, and thinkers who signed the Call for Ahl Al-Sudan suggested as a profound wisdom figured out as a poor piece of zigzag between the Muslim Brotherhood's wish to adopt trades unions and political parties as modalities that appeal to the Masses on the one hand and the Call's saving provision that puts an ambiguous condition on this adoption by saying that "it had to go with values of Islam."

Why is it that all of a sudden democracy and unions acquire such a paramount value? Is it because your Haraka decided to adopt them?! How puffed your Haraka is! Isn't it true that infant branches naturally follow the main trunk, i.e., the Sudanese great unions and democratic parties?

The provision your Call asked for is at best ambiguous as you suddenly opted for the same democracy you so violently crushed in our own country. Democracy is obviously clear as human rights international norms as well as creative exercise by People with full freedom. As such, democracy never contradicts Islam, the great religion that is based on justice, peace, and the full freedom to decide whether a person believes in Islam or not. The values your Haraka desired are nothing of these. They have already manifested themselves in the arrogance with which your State and Party eradicated millions of our innocent People for no reason.

What values the international Haraka now endorses? What values have they thus far endorsed and applied on the innocent victims of our country? What are they planning on for their own countries and Arab, African, or Asian nationals?! Was your movement oriented in the first place to break the Sudanese unconquerable integrity, consistent struggles for the establishment
of democracy, and their unwavering revolutionary commitment to overthrow any regime that goes astray?

Since the signatories, however, have not said a word about these values of Islam, let me suggest with humility the following: Democracy in origin is a human construct invented by the Western industrial nations. The values of Islam as learned by Sudanese for centuries from their ancestral generations are not a political science, a political party, or trades unions. These
modern forms were not there at the Medina State. They never existed until modern times. The competing parties and groups throughout Muslim history were tribal groups, power-seekers or armies of kings and emperors.

The Ahzab who fought the Prophet of Islam were a coalition of the tribes of Quraish and others, not any political party in the contemporary sense or practice of the day, except for the Haraka Islamiya's failing thinking and practice as their Call admitted. Political parties and trades unions of our times organize and struggle to stay and develop with consciousness and the
freedom of opinion and expression as political entities independent of any State or tyrannical leadership. The more they act as popular groups, the more they help peace and justice in society.

The values of Islam are good conduct and behavior of individuals and groups toward one another in accordance with the Hadith: "Do not envy one another; do not inflate prices one to another; do not hate one another; and do not turn away from one another; and do not undercut one another, but be you, O Servants of Allah, brothers. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim: he neither oppresses him nor does he fail him, he neither lies to him nor does he hold him in contempt. Piety is right here and he pointed to his breast three times."

Was any of the Prophet's Hadith ever implemented by Dr. Nafi' of the State Security Torturing Group and his accomplices the Zabaniya of the most notorious, non-Islamic, inhuman, coward, and treacherous Ghost Houses ever reported in our world today? Or was your Haraka Islamiya Revolution based on some temporary Kufr with Hadith and Islam until State and Party would be fully in control despite the fact that your Revolution turned to a permanent failure?

The Haraka Islamiya State and Party you established with za'im Dr. Hassan Turabi and president Omer Bashir and their treacherous group in Sudan has flatly antagonized the Hadith, thus going astray, as it came with a Revolution of Salvation to the incarcerated evils and Satan that the Sudanese were able to exterminate away from their State and Society all over
their political striving for a decent, free, and beautiful life that their noble Africa the Mother of goodness, hospitality, and bravery deserved since the dawn of history.

You have exposed Sudan, the Good Child of the Mother Continent, to all the experiments that your Haraka Islamiya yearned to test: you exposed Sudanese to a maximum degree of persecution, humiliation, flogging, enslavement, acts of slavery, ethnic cleansing, dismissal of work, sequestration of property, extra-judicial killing, torture, and all crimes against humanity.

You exposed Sudanese to the maximum degree devils could hope to exercise against decent citizens: raping many women, a leading army officer, and students, imposing female circumcision, collective marriages, reactionary wasteful laws of personal status that deprived women of the very rights Islam offered to them such as the right to choose a spouse and keep gifts of
engagement, the right to divorce, child custody and maintenance, and many other crimes against the human body and soul. Are these what you meant by saying your Haraka was "auspicious" of the entrenchment of religion and the establishment of Al-Mahaja Al-Bayda?!

You displaced millions of Sudanese all over the world as your vice president Al-Zubair announced your State and Party "is only interested in one third of the Sudanese total population."

You killed Sudanese children in thousands.

You massacred Massaleit Muslims in thousands.

You bombarded Sudanese Christians and other believers in hundreds of thousands and helped with active involvement to hunt Southerners, Nuba, Ingessana, and other African Sudanese as your za'im Turabi, president Bashir, and their accomplices reduced them to beings less than humans.

What does it mean that you write a Call to Ahl Al-Sudan in cool breath, with all broken hearts to help za'im Turabi and president Bashir, the Killers of Sudan and the War Criminals of Sudan, to survive and live "happily" in Democracy, Pluralism, with Masses' consent, and Peace after all this criminality? How could a dictator run a democracy for which he has no
belief?

Ama lil-Nas haq fi shari'kum? A-takhafoun Allah [Aren't there rights for People in your Path? Are you really God-fearing]?
