THE CRISIS OF RELIGIOUS FAITH AND RULING
POLITICS
A CRITIQUE
OF THE MUSLIM ULAMA AND LEADERS'
CALL TO AHL AL-SUDAN
(11)
The Sudanese non-Muslim non-Arab population deserve international recognition
by the United Nations to help stop the acts of genocide Al-Haraka Al-Islamiya
State and Party are exercising against them. This recognition will help
them and the NDA democratic opposition realize the right to self determination
to Sudanese victims of war as a necessary step to establish a healthy democratic
rule based on justice and equality for all Sudanese, regardless of race, religious
belief, ethnicity, economic status or political stand.
You have not mentioned as Haraka Islamiya ulama, leaders, and thinkers
the right to self-determination for these Sudanese. You have not recognized
the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), the largest and most important democratic
opposition body of the People of Sudan who are struggling for democracy, pluralism,
and peace versus the crazy, corrupted and "failure"
rule of Haraka Islamiya (as you correctly labeled in the Call) led
by za'im Dr. Hassan Turabi and president Omer Bashir.
Hamas, one of the Haraka Islamiya factions, allowed itself to beat
up Sudanese students in Sudanese universities a few years ago. A Syrian citizen
was found dead fighting with NIF transgressing troops against the Muslim Massaleit
of DarFur. Many other supporters of Haraka Islamiya took arms against
Sudanese and involved in acts of war in Southern Sudan and Nuba Mountains.
The Call did not say a word about these unfair, illegal, unwarranted intrusions
by Haraka Islamiya Arabiya in Sudan's affairs, not by way of peace
and reconciliation - but by aggression and acts of war.
Another example is pertinent to Algeria that Sudanese Africans already supported
in the war of liberation from France, the Palestinians Sudanese Africans already
supported to make their own State (that appears made), and the Egyptian Muslims
and non-Muslims whom Sudanese Africans also supported against the persecution
of foreign rule throughout history only as part of Sudanese good relations
with the sisterly People of Egypt, Palestine, and Algeria, not as an ideology
to usurp political power or an organization conspiring to seize a State by
military coup. Sudanese supported these nations for the sake of national and
regional coexistence in peace and mutual respect.
The Algerian, Palestinian, and Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood leaders and thinkers
who signed the Call as leaders of parties for justice, advancement, and peace
said no single word to condemn the Haraka Islamiya led by za'im Dr.
Hassan Turabi and president Omer Bashir for this unprecedented record of fooleries
and crimes against humanity since they seized power with treachery and deception.
For millions of Sudanese who are not supporters of Haraka Islamiya
or Muslim Brotherhood, this shameless context of Al-Haraka Islamiya State
and Party definitely has nothing to do with Islam, the religion of justice
and peace, though it appeared to have had everything possible with Haraka
Islamiya as a political ideology and a conspiracy organization against
the Sudanese free, democratic, and progressive State and Society.
Turabi, Bashir, and their accomplices continued brutalizing Sudanese Africans
for a decade to this day since the Mutamarat Shabiya Arabiya that
Turabi held and led with the public property of Sudan Treasury to boost Haraka
Islamiya at the expense of Sudanese Masses, to find a conflated "moral
and material support" to kill, brutalize, and humiliate Sudanese, to
satisfy his craziness and his selfishness with Bashir and the other criminals
who are ruling Sudan today.
It is frightening Haraka Islamiya ulama, leaders, and thinkers deliberately
erased from their Call on Ahl Al-Sudan all the wicked, corrupted, criminal
record of the Haraka Islamiya rule of Sudan for a decade.
It is incredible!
The Holy Qur'an taught Muslims: "You are the best of Peoples, evolved for
mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing
in God" (Al-Imran:110). What did Al-Haraka Islamiya State and Party
of Sudan had to do with this Holy Qur'an's clear and strong message? Did they
sincerely act to "enjoin what is rights, forbid what is wrong" and fear God"?
They never did!
It is frightening that the Haraka Islamiya ulama, leaders, and thinkers
never wrote a word of sympathy to the People of Sudan whose mothers, fathers,
wives, daughters, sisters, and sons have been brutalized in millions for no
reason by the international Haraka Islamiya State and Party of Sudan.
It is frightening that the Haraka Islamiya whose ulama included famous criminologists
and scholars like Al-Alama Al-Shaikh Yusuf Al-Garadawi and even the poet Ayat
Allah Uzmi Al-Sayed Mohamed Hussain Fadl-Allah did not find one word to sympathize
with victims of the Haraka, the Sudanese thinkers, writers, and ulama their
State and Party dismissed, arrested, tortured, and even killed in Sudan.
